Burnout

September 19, 2006

I’ve incredibly busy over the last number of months. I am current’ly feeling the effects both mentally and phiscally. It’s amazing how not planning well and continuing to run and run will affect your spiritual, emotional and physical life. We try to do it all. It’s been instilled in us here in western culture that we should be majorly productive and participate in everything that is out there. We’re taught that it is our “right”. I’m reminded of some wisdom as I write this:

“Be STILL and know . . .”

“Man was not made for the sabbath, but the sabbath was made for man”

“Justified by FAITH not by WORKs”

Allen Levi says, “Slow down, slow down, You’re like some little kid caught up in a twirl spinning round and round. It’s hard to be a Mary in a Martha’s world”

and lastly . . .
Jim Burns says, “Burnout is always Your fault.”

Let us rest in Christ with our heads upon His chest.

Hear the heartbeat
