The Proverbial Journey 31

March 31, 2010

Proverbs Chapter 31

As we wind up our journey through the Book of Proverbs, there is so much in there that I didn’t touch on.  So tomorrow, begin again and see even more that God is just waiting to reveal to you!

There are a couple of main thoughts I want to leave you with regarding this book.  First, God’s word is life to us.  The spoken word that creates and is powerful.  The written word that reveals and guides.  The Word made flesh that is the light of the world and brings eternal life to those who believe.  Second, God will give us wisdom if we will listen and apply His word.  It will protect us and help us to have the life that He created us for.  Third, God wants us to live this life in service to Him and to others in need.  Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost.  He was a servant.  He attended to the needs of those that “religious” people would not give the time of day.

I think it is a powerful statement that we are left at the end of Proverbs, just before the epilogue, with this statement:

8 “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,
for the rights of all who are destitute.

9 Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

As always, I come back to saying, “Love God and Love People” – Luke 10:27

Be praying where the journey will take you next!  Stay tuned here and we’ll walk together.

Epilogue

We are left with this attachment at the end of Proverbs that lays out what a wife of noble character is like.  I just want to go on the record that I am married to one!  She is the love of my life and the joy of my heart!  I love you Lisa!
