It: Spirit Filled Faith

July 16, 2010

Here is post number Four on my thoughts of the six characteristics of people who seem to have “it” taken from Craig Groeschel’s book “It: How Church Leaders Can Get It and Keep It”.

4. Spirit Filled Faith

I’m not sure you can have true faith with out the Holy Spirit’s power.  After all, we only can utter “Jesus is Lord” but by the grace of God.  I also know that faith is a gift.

What I think is meant here by Spirit Lead Faith is a Spirit directed, surrendered walk with God.

The Bible instructs us to be filled daily with the Holy Spirit.  We need His strength not ours.  It is truly embracing the idea that it is beyond our ability to have substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).  It is the Spirit that bears fruit (Galatians 5:22-23).  It is our job to abide in Jesus.

So how do we have Spirit filled faith?

  • Ask and believe God for it daily
  • Obey leadings of the Holy Spirit
  • Read, Learn, and Apply scripture
  • Worship and openly live the Faith
  • Repent!
