Great Worship Song!
Follow the link over to Bob Kauflin’s Blog and check out the video for this song, “By This We Know Love”. It will bless you. The Gospel should be and should remain the center of our worship!

Just a note about a chorus we sing sometimes. I like the chorus but one part seemed a little strange to me, “like a wet sloppy kiss.” Turns out that is not the right words, see below:
David Crowder Band – How He Loves
From the album Church Music
He is jealous for me
Loves like a hurricane
I am a tree
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy
When all of a sudden
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory
And I realize just how beautiful You are
And how great Your affections are for me
And oh, how He loves us so
Oh how He loves us
How He loves us all
Yeah, He loves us
Oh how He loves us
Oh how He loves us
Oh how He loves
And we are His portion and
He is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes
If His grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking
And Heaven meets Earth like an unforeseen kiss
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets When I think about, the way…

Hi David! Thanks for joining in the discussion! I am a big fan of David Crowder’s version of the song. I love his use of the piano at the beginning. However, he is actually not the original author of the song and changed that particular lyric for his version. The original author is John Mark McMillan and the “sloppy wet kiss” line is the original lyric. The song has been recorded by a number of artists as it has gained popularity. Below is a link to a youtube video of John Mark McMillan leading his song at The Call a year or so ago. The second link is my favorite version of the song led by Kim Walker. Thanks for commenting!
